✦ Aquamarine

Formed in the heart of pegmatite rocks and hydrothermal veins, aquamarine is a variety of beryl coloured by traces of iron into its signature shade of pale, translucent blue. Its name comes from the Latin aqua marina, meaning water of the sea, and for centuries sailors carried it as a talisman of safe passage and calm waters.
